Damselflies are a group of insects that belong to the order Odonata which also includes the dragonflies. Damselflies differ from dragonflies in that they usually have slimmer bodies and most fold their wings along their body when they land. Damselfly nymphs (young) and the adults are carnivorous and feed on other insects. They live near and breed in a variety of freshwater habitats.
I am by no means an insect expert so the damselflies will appear in this page by their primary colour to make them easier to identify for fellow amateurs like me. I will add photos as I get them so this page will continue to expand over time.
